The company was founded by Paolo Cerrato following a fifteen-year career as manager for two important international media groups: Cia Media network, a British company that belongs to the WPP Group, and McCann-Erikson. He strongly believed in an alternative model of media agency and decided to set up his own, characterised by its optimal size (not too big), independence, professional expertise, high level of service and personalized service.
Personalmedia was founded in 2008 and in just seven years has become the first independent media agency in Italy. It managed a budget of 30 million euros in 2015 and has 25 employees working in 3 offices (Turin, Milan, Genoa). The agency has about 25 clients operating in different industries – food and beverages, fashion, energy, finance, accessories and jewellery.
The agency’s share of activity (media planning and buying) is 50% offline and communication and 50% digital, split into 3 activities (display, performing, social).
It specializes in direct response activity and lead generation campaigns.
It is a media-driven agency that believes in a new model of communication agency where the priority is media. Its specialization is the media; the entire team are all media people who keep up to date with the evolution of the fast growing technology and digital platform. They ensure content and execution are appropriate to the specific channels. The communication unit works very closely with media managers.
